SW Spain integrates López-Ibor & Asociados to expand energy and legal capabilities

We are pleased to share that SW Spain has reached an agreement to integrate Estudio Jurídico Internacional López-Ibor & Asociados, a leading international law firm specialized in energy law with a strong presence in Latin America. The firm is led by Dr. Vicente López-Ibor Mayor, former Commissioner of the National Energy Commission, Special Advisor to the European Energy Commissioner, and President of the European Federation of Energy Law Associations (EFELA).
Vicente López-Ibor Mayor highlighted that this integration strengthens the firm’s international focus and positions SW Spain as a strategic partner for multinational groups, funds, and institutional investors seeking to develop industrial platforms and distribution networks fully aligned with European regulatory and operational standards.
Loreta Calero, CEO of SW Spain, commented that this integration enhances SW Spain’s capabilities in highly specialized and strongly regulated areas, particularly in the energy sector. By integrating these capabilities with its Engineering and Construction division, SW Spain is able to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end platform that supports international industrial investments and operations. SW Spain has established an Advisory Board, with relevant partners from its operating companies, Álvaro Pericas Ruiz, Vicente López-Ibor, José María Gredilla, Alexandre Díez, and Loreta Calero. In addition, Vicente Sánchez Velasco, former CEO of Wolters Kluwer and Aranzadi, has been appointed as an external member of the Board.
